FluentBoards 1.4: Simplified Stage Creation, Enhanced Storage Options, Task Cover Customization, & More!

Hi, this is Shahajahan Jewel, bringing you the very first FluentBoards update of 2025!

The year 2024 was an incredible journey for us. Thanks to your love, support, and invaluable feedback, we worked hard to shape FluentBoards into a complete project management tool tailored to your needs. 

In just six months, we rolled out 5 major product updates and introduced over 10 brand-new features! And, now. We’re super excited to make 2025 even more rewarding!

However, before diving into the serious business our rockstar dev team decided to tackle the bugs and shortcomings that might hold you back first. So, as you can guess, the very first update of 2025 focuses primarily on improvements and bug fixes!

That means no new features?

Well, don’t get disheartened! We’ve added a few small yet exciting new features, and we’re sure you’ll love them!

Create A New Stage Between Existing Stages

Our tagline, “FluentBoards – The Simplest WordPress Project Management Plugin,” reflects our unwavering commitment to user-friendliness.

And guess what? When we asked some of our beloved users what they love most about FluentBoards, the most common response was: “Easy to Use!”

With this update, we’ve taken another step to make FluentBoards even simpler.

Previously, creating a new stage required a bit of extra effort! You had to scroll down to the last stage on the board, click “Create a New Stage,” and then drag it to its intended position.

But, not anymore! Now, with just one click, you can add a new stage exactly where you want it.

After updating to the latest version of FluentBoards, you’ll notice a new button between the stages. This handy feature lets you create a stage faster and easier than ever before.

Note: This feature is available in both the free and Pro versions!

Image and Custom Color in Task Cover

Project management can be hectic, we all know that! But by adding a splash of color, you can break the monotony and make it more enjoyable.

With this update, your project boards are about to get a whole lot more vibrant and colorful!

Previously, task covers were limited to a set of predefined colors. But now, you can go a step further and add images to make each task visually unique, meaningful, and engaging.

To try it out, simply click on the three dots next to your task. You’ll find the option to add an image as well as a custom color there.

Select an image or a custom color that resonates with your task, and watch the magic happen!

Wow! Your tasks now look cooler and more dynamic than ever!

New External Storage Provider (Backblaze & Digital Ocean S3 Storage Integration)

We believe in limitless scalability! Our goal is to empower you to expand and manage your projects exactly how you want!

That’s why in FluentBoards 1.3, we introduced external storage options with Cloudflare R2 and Amazon S3. And now, we’re taking it further!

With this update, we’ve added two more storage providers: 

• Backblaze
• DigitalOcean Spaces

Now, along with Cloudflare R2 and Amazon S3, you have even more flexibility to host your media externally.

To enable these options, simply go to your settings dashboard and select “Features & Modules.” There, you’ll find an option called “Media Storage.”

Click on it, choose your preferred storage provider, complete the setup, and from then on, your media will be stored on the platform of your choice.

However, this is just the beginning! More storage providers will be added soon!

Bug Fixes & Improvements 

As mentioned earlier, the primary focus of this update is on bug fixes and improvements. And, to make your experience with FluentBoards even smoother, we’ve introduced the following enhancements and resolved these issues:

• Improvement:  UX in settings feature module
• Improvement: UI/UX in task comment and image
• Improvement: Replaced pagination with an infinite scroll for comments and activities
• Improvement: Stage selection  in Recurring Task
• Improvement: Updated Roadmap task details with vote counter and improved task type handling
• Improvement: Comment mentions system updated
• Improvement: Comment mentions notification updated
• Improvement: Quick Search in mobile view
• Improvement: Automatic deletion of board activities upon board removal
• Improvement: UI improvement in the frontend topbar
• Fixed: Issue where @mentions would occasionally display as “undefined” 
• Fixed: Custom field error in the filter
• Fixed: Comment created time issue
• Fixed: Console error while editing webhook
• Fixed: Notification design-break issue solved
• Fixed: UI breaking with long activity history text
• Fixed: Improved touch-screen drag icon and task title styling
• Fixed: PHP 7.4 compatibility Issue
• Other Improvements & Bug Fixes
